PERFECT PULLED PORK

7/23/2022

With a summer of heat we are looking to cool things down with the amazing flavor of Sweet Revenge Original barbecue sauce.  When we think of summer we think of being outside, sunshine, swimming, and grilling.  Whether you're outside or in, Sweet Revenge Original barbecue sauce is promised to be rich in flavor and essential to your summer activities.  One staple that comes to mind is pulled pork. We have the secret to making the best pulled pork every single time.
Whether you’ve made pulled pork before or not this is a great recipe that makes a delicious meal every time.

What you'll need:

  • 1 Pork shoulder
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Sweet Revenge Original Barbecue sauce

Start by preheating the oven to 275 F

Start with a pork shoulder thawed, then place it in a roaster pan (fat side up) deep enough for the shoulder.  With a knife, score lines in the fat making squares about half inch in size.  Now lightly salt, pepper, and garlic the fatty side of the pork shoulder then cover the roaster pan with foil.

Cook the pork in the now heated oven for seven hours. After cooking for seven hours remove the foil and inspect. You are looking for a golden glow on the fat side of the pork.  If you don't have that, set the oven temperature to 400 F and put it back in the oven uncovered for 30 minutes.

When cooking meat products be sure to check the internal temperature with a thermometer.  Cook to a minimum of 165 F.

Let the meat cool until it is safe enough to handle.  Using gloves begin to pull apart the pork shoulder, massaging it in your hands.  As you do this, focus on removing all the gristle parts and excess fat. The gristle can make the pulled pork unpleasant and hard to eat.

Now set the oven at 200F

Now that all the fat and gristle are removed from your nicely pulled pork, lightly pour your Sweet Revenge Barbecue sauce and mix thoroughly. Place the roaster pan covered in foil back into the oven for 30 minutes.

After the last 30 minutes let the meat cool to serving temp, adding more sauce as needed and enjoy!
